2008/2009 marks the 10th year that the Provo Blades have been playing as a team. This year we are splitting into two programs (under the same umbrella). We will have an under 19 girls' team as well as our core women's team. This is necessary due to a new USA Hockey ruling. We will continue to practice together and support each other as one organization, but games will be separate. This could turn out to be a great opportunity for out team to grow even further and start helping girls' hockey to grow even more.
The Provo Blades is a close knit team of girls and women from age 11 up into their late 30's (we've even had 40 year olds in the past!). We accept players of all skill levels because we feel as though we have a mission to grow girls'/women's hockey in Utah County and we don't want to leave anyone behind. We have a great development program that is able to cater to all skill levels and a coaching staff that is wonderful at managing this.
Kevin Nostrom is our head coach and he has taken our team to levels of play that we have never reached before. He is committed to the team and is a good friend to our players. Stan and Jeremy Weiss have helped out on skills development this past year and hope to be able to do so this year as well. Last year we had two goalie coaches Reagan Scoville and Dave Bennett who helped out immensely. We hope to have them help out again this year.
